Located adjacent to the Montauk Point State Park, the museum showcases the seafaring history of the Lighthouse and offers guided tours. The Montauk Historical Society owns and operates the museum, visitor center, gift shop, and the grounds. Climb 137 steps to the deck for spectacular views of the ocean. Visit the exhibit, Where Land Meets Sea and Sky: Exploring Montauk History through the Richard T. Gilmartin Galleries. This year the Historical Society is displaying two historic documents related to the original lighthouse, one signed by George Washington and one by Thomas Jefferson. Lots of fun and interest for all ages. Check for special events and schedules throughout the year. Fee: $9 Adults, $7 Seniors, and $4 Children up to 12 years old and at least 41” tall; Children under 41” free, but they can’t go up the tower. second house museum in MontaukSecond House Museum

First House is long gone, but like Third House, Second House is a 1700’s farmhouse once built for the East Hampton shepherds and now a museum. The land features a beautiful rose and herb garden which you can visit. The house was recently renovated, and has a new exhibit and photos. Open daily in season except Wednesday from 10am-4pm. Fee for Adults $4. Located 1/2 mile west of the Village on Montauk Highway; Second House hosts numerous events throughout the year. 668-5340
